Martijn Breed

Martijn Breed has been working in the financial sector for almost 25 years and has over 20 years of experience in the structured finance domain. Since the beginning of 2012, he has been working at NN Bank as a senior legal counsel. At NN Bank he developed a sustainable mortgage label named Woonnu. After being a member of the management team of Woonnu for 5 years, he currently is helping NN Bank with ESG-related topics in the broadest sense of the word.
Martijn also represents NN Bank in several ESG committees, such as at the Dutch Banking Association and the European Energy Efficiency Finance Coalition. Martijn is member of the board of the Energy Efficiency Mortgage Hub Netherlands, and of course, as one of the coalition partners, a proud member and ambassador of ENGAGE for ESG.

The NN Bank experience on the alignment of mortgages with the EU Taxonomy through the ENGAGE Templates and Portal

During the fireside chat, the speakers will discuss about the ENGAGE for ESG initiative, in particular, about the two main pillars of the initiative: the ENGAGE Templates and Portal, and will present how NN Bank has used the ENGAGE Templates and Portal to check the alignment of their mortgage portfolios. They will dive us into the key challenges credit institutions usually face when dealing with sustainability reporting, and will flag the benefits of the ENGAGE solutions to address these.
