Athanasios Tzortzinis

Athanasios Tzortzinis is Group Head of ESG at Sarantis Group, where he is responsible for shaping and coordinating the Group’s ESG agenda, with a focus on sustainability reporting, ESG governance, climate-related disclosures and ESG performance management.

He is a Chemical Engineer, graduate of the National Technical University of Athens, with more than 15 years of professional experience across industrial sectors, including cement, energy, metallurgy and fast-moving consumer goods. Before joining Sarantis Group, he held ESG-related roles in large industrial organizations, working on sustainability reporting, climate strategy, EU Taxonomy, carbon accounting and ESG risk management.

At Sarantis Group, he leads the implementation of the Group’s CSRD/ESRS reporting framework, the annual Double Materiality Assessment process, and the integration of ESG considerations into governance, risk management and decision-making. He also supports the enhancement of ESG data management, internal controls and audit readiness across the Group’s international operations.
